The company was begun as Fratelli Prada ( English: Prada Brothers ) by Mario Prada in 1913 as a leather goods shop in Milan, Italy.  Marios' daughter, Muccia, was the designer that ultimately transformed the label into renown status.  The logo for the label and the signature Prada silver-and black triangle never were the main design element unlike other prominent luxury brands.
